This week you are going to write a reflection of your multiple intelligence test results. Of course, it will be written with a twist. You are going to use the online tool Xtranormal to write an interview with yourself about your results.
Your interview needs to address the results you achieved in your test, what you would have predicted for yourself, whether you were excited, some evidence in your life that shows that these are your areas of strength and finally how you can use your strengths in your school work and at home.
When you have finished these it would be excellent if you could also address the areas in which you scored your lowest and if that surprised you, also if you think those scores have an impact on school work.
You will need to write a script for your interview that includes dialogue for two people.
When you have finished your script and had it corrected by your teacher you are ready to begin your Xtranormal.
Week 6 - Creative Thursdays
As part of our Inquiry Unit (How Am I A Creative Thinker?) we introduce to you...Creative Thursday. It is a day devoted to you being creative and making or researching something of interest to you.
You have the freedom of choosing what you want to present as your finished project, as well as the topic or area of interest.
Each Thursday you will be asked to set yourself goals that you are aiming to achieve for the day. These goals are to be negotiated with your teacher and need to be measurable and achievable.
You will need to keep a progress record of the work you have put towards your project and the types of challenges that you encountered as you are working. There are two documents you need to download to fill in as you go along.
There will need to be planning going into your project and your teacher should be seeing evidence of your plan as you work through the project.
At the end of each Thursday there will be a DROP EVERYTHING AND REFLECT time when your teacher will provide you with some reflection question and you will write about your day.
We are hoping to have a lot of fun with this project and see a lot of interesting and exciting ideas.
Good Luck!
Walk around the school with a digital camera taking photos of as many words that you can find. Use those photos to make a movie describing how you feel about your school.
Talk with your group about what makes your school a special place to be and generate some ideas.
The key to this activity is to not have an idea of what you want to say before you take the photos. You could spend a lot of time walking around the school looking for that one word you are missing if you do it that way.
You need to walk around the school and take A LOT of pictures and then make some sense out of the words you have.
Week 8 Design A Learning Space
Your task this week is to design a learning space that would cater for all the different learning styles in the 5/6 area. Imagine that you are an architect and have been given the job to create an area for the senior unit to work in. What would it look like? Would it be a traditional classroom or something completely different.
You will need to understand your learning strengths as well as the strengths of others in your area.
You will need to consider some of the following points...
there needs to be enough space for 130 students
there needs to be 5 'home base' type areas
there needs to be a teacher's work station
there needs to be a bag area
there needs to be a laptop storage area
there can be both indoor and outdoor study areas
you need to think about the shape and layout of the learning area
you need to consider what furniture would suit different types of learning
you need to think about where you want windows to attract or avoid sunshine
